Hey, tech enthusiasts! Exciting news for those eager to get their hands on Nvidia’s latest graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition! While reviews of the new $549 GPU have already hit the web, Nvidia has announced that the Founders Edition variant won’t be available until later this month.
In an email to The Verge, Nvidia GeForce global PR director Ben Berraondo revealed that the RTX 5070 Founders Edition launch is scheduled for later in March. However, if you can’t wait that long, third-party versions from companies like Asus and MSI will be launching on March 5th.
According to Andreas Schilling of Hardwareluxx, Nvidia had initially delayed the RTX 5070 series from its original launch date of February 28th. Nevertheless, tech enthusiasts can still look forward to offerings from manufacturers like Asus, Colorful, Gainward, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY, and Zotac, among others, starting March 5th.
When Nvidia introduced the RTX 5070, they claimed it would offer performance on par with the $1,599 RTX 4090. However, recent testing doesn’t quite align with that assertion. The delay in the launch of the RTX 5070 Founders Edition, coupled with mixed reviews, adds to the challenges Nvidia has faced during the launch of their 50-series chips. Issues like rare manufacturing problems with the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti cards missing physical render output units (ROPs) have also been reported.
Stay tuned for the arrival of the GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition later this month and explore the various third-party options available from March 5th. Are you excited to get your hands on this new GPU? Let us know in the comments below!
