Wyze cameras have once again raised privacy concerns as some owners were able to see into a stranger’s home. Five months after a previous incident, at least a dozen users were affected by a security issue that allowed them to view thumbnails of cameras that were not their own in the Events tab.
Wyze’s cofounder, David Crosby, confirmed the breach, stating that the company has identified the problem. This breach occurred following an extended outage that Wyze attributed to issues with AWS. Subsequently, ten Redditors reported seeing images from other users’ cameras, including glimpses of strangers’ porches and living rooms.
These recent incidents highlight the importance of ensuring strong security measures when using smart home devices like Wyze cameras.
